With New Eyes

It has been almost strange to me to have Ben home again. All is viewed and taken in with new eyes and a changed heart. In the time that I had to be alone I learned that in those moments I realized how much I love Ben, how much I still have to learn about him, how much growing we both were going through without each other, and how much I wanted to have him home so that we could begin our walk together with more purpose and meaning and with thanksgiving in all things. On another note, I have been able to have time to start ebaying again, cook delicious meals, bake, clean thoroughly, bike ride with all of us, read the bible most mornings together, and just enjoy watching Ben and Lathan bond as a father and a son. Those two are two peas in a pod and I love just taking it all in. I am truly blessed and thankful for the change that our Great Lord has brought about.

CHRISTMAS WEEK EVENTS

Yup that is right. Ben surprised us with the news of an earlier departure from Iraq, and Lathan and I waited anxiously for news of WHEN he would actually get a flight. Finally on Wednesday I heard news of the WHEN. He touched down at 8pm Christmas Eve and was greeted with 2 welcoming and joyous smiles. Hip Hip Hurray!!! So I and Lathan were blessed with the BEST Gift of all, Papa is home, and we have been spending the past few days catching up together as a family.
